Class Change: How Committing Works

How the Adventurer-to-class commitment works in AION 2: when you choose, what is known about changing later, and how to decide between all eight launch classes.

Quick Answer: Can You Change Class in AION 2?

No free re-class system is confirmed at global launch. Every character starts as an Adventurer and commits to one of the eight classes through an early story quest — after that step, the choice is treated as real. Nothing in the launch materials promises a later respec; anything claiming otherwise predates the global build or comes from the Korean version's uncertain roadmap.

Planning to play seriously with one character? Read the classes hub first. The class you commit to defines your invite rate, your solo comfort and your endgame slot.

How the Commitment Step Works

The flow is: choose a faction (Elyos or Asmodians — separate servers, identical roster), play the shared Adventurer starter that teaches the basics, then commit through an early class-change step in the story. The Adventurer segment is short but real: it is the game's chance to show you movement, flight basics and combat rhythm before it asks you to specialize.

Choosing Between the Eight

Filter by the questions that actually matter. Want guaranteed group invites forever? Templar (the only tank) or Cleric (the only main healer). Want forgiving solo leveling? Gladiator, Ranger or Spiritmaster — the three self-sufficient classes. Want execution to show on the damage meter? Assassin. Want the biggest numbers? Sorcerer. Want to strengthen everyone at once while still swinging? Chanter. The planner on this site can also suggest a class by playstyle in thirty seconds.

If You Pick Wrong

The practical answer at launch is the same as every committed MMO: level a second character (the Adventurer-to-class path is fast the second time), or wait for NC to speak on a re-class system the way the Korean version eventually will. What the community is watching for: any account-level boost tokens, class-change tickets in the Daeva Pass, or Korean patch notes introducing respec — this page updates the moment any of those are confirmed for global.
