Beginner Guide: Start Right on Day One

Everything a new Daeva needs on day one in AION 2: faction choice, the Adventurer-to-class path, flight, first-hour priorities, and the mistakes that cost you a week.

Quick Answer: What to Do First in AION 2

Follow the main story quest line and touch nothing else. The main line delivers every early system unlock in order — wings (lake quest), enhancement (level 9), crafting and gathering (level 10), legions, expeditions — and the fastest route to each one is the route you are already on. Pick the class the story offers you only after skimming the classes hub, because there is no confirmed free re-class at launch.

Faction choice (Elyos or Asmodians) is aesthetic and community, not gameplay: separate servers, identical class roster.

Your First Hours, Step by Step

  • Choose a faction and server — join friends; community beats geography in an MMO.
  • Play the Adventurer starter: it teaches movement, combat and the flight basics you will keep forever.
  • Commit to a class through the early story step. Frontline: Templar tanks, Gladiator forgives, Assassin executes. Ranged: Ranger kites, Sorcerer bursts, Spiritmaster commands pets. Support: Cleric heals, Chanter empowers.
  • Keep following the main story until the lake quest hands you wings — flight changes how you fight, not just how you travel.
  • At level 9, enhancement opens. At 10, crafting, gathering and the Daeva Pass arrive together.

The Five Beginner Mistakes

One: picking a class by somebody else's tier list instead of by the role you enjoy — scarcity roles (Templar, Cleric) get invites forever, but only if you like the job. Two: skipping the main story to grind mobs, which delays every system unlock. Three: enhancing throwaway gear at level 9 — stones are cheap, habits are not. Four: ignoring gathering nodes from level 10 — they are free income on the road you were walking anyway. Five: rushing to 45 in mismatched gear; the cap wall hands you a dozen systems and expects you to be equipped.

What Changes at the Cap

Level 45 is not the end, it is a door: the Abyss war, weekly Sanctuary bosses, the Conquest ladder (aggregate item level 700 → 3,000), Transcendence ranks, the Market, and the Season tracks all unlock together. The leveling guide and the daily routine guide sequence what to do the moment you arrive.
