AION 2: Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. AION 2 is free to play on Windows PC through Steam and NC's PURPLE launcher, with in-app purchases and an optional $15/month membership tier. A separate optional Founder's Pack exists for the launch window — 5-day advanced access, a Unique title, a 30-day Quai membership and a supply chest per the official listing — but the game itself costs nothing to download and play.

AION 2 launched globally on October 5, 2026 for North America, South America and Europe on PC. Korea and Taiwan have been live since November 19, 2025; the global version is a modified Season 1 build roughly a year behind the Korean one.

Eight: Templar (tank), Gladiator (melee DPS), Assassin (melee burst), Ranger (ranged physical), Sorcerer (magic burst), Spiritmaster (summoner — listed as Elementalist in some pre-launch coverage, same class), Cleric (main healer) and Chanter (buff support). Brawler, the ninth Korean class, is not in the global launch.

There is no confirmed free re-class system at global launch. You start as an Adventurer and commit to a class through an early story quest — treat the choice as real. The class change guide collects everything NC has said on the topic so far.

45 for the global Season 1 launch build. The Korean version caps at 50, so Korean content gated behind levels 46-50 does not exist globally yet. Hitting 45 unlocks the endgame wall at once: Abyss, Arena, Nightmare, Sanctuary, Transcendence, Ascension Trial, Market, Season, Rank, Arcana and World Level.

Item level is the power number on each gear piece; the aggregate across all equipped slots is what Conquest dungeons gate on. The ladder: Tier 1 at 700, Tier 2 at 1,400, Tier 3 at 2,100, Tier 4 at 2,800 and Tier 5 at 3,000 aggregate item level — the top of the global Season 1 ladder.

Common and Rare gear enhances safely to +5, Epic to +10, and Unique to +15 — safe to +10, then descending odds of 65% → 50% → 35% → 25% → 20% with a +5% success bonus after every failure. Amplify Stones extend high-item-level Uniques past +15. The enhancement guide has the full cost tables.

Four: Common, Rare, Epic and Unique. Unique gear comes in fixed item levels from 36 to 102 at launch and is the only grade that reaches the top Conquest tiers. Odds depend only on grade — item level changes the cost, not the success chance.

Wings come from an early main-story quest in your starting zone: "The Power in the Lake" for Elyos or "The Being Beneath the Lake" for Asmodians. There is no level requirement and no purchase — follow the main line and you will be flying within your first hours.

Not yet. Brawler is the fist-weapon ninth class added to the Korean version with its Chapter 1 update ("Lands of Sand and Snow"); the global launch ships eight classes only, and pre-launch Q&A suggests Brawler trails by roughly half a year or more.

Three things: content baseline (global launches from an earlier point — cap 45 vs Korea's 50), balance (global ships with Korea's accumulated balance changes, so Korean guide numbers may not match), and cadence (Korean seasons run about three months apart; global trails). Mobile exists only for KR/TW; global is PC only.

Conquest is the ranked dungeon ladder you unlock at level 45, gated by aggregate item level in five tiers (700 / 1,400 / 2,100 / 2,800 / 3,000). It is where endgame PvE progression happens alongside weekly Sanctuary boss lockouts and the four-tier Transcendence ladder.

Yes — the Abyss, unlocked at level 45: open-world faction war between Elyos and Asmodians, scheduled Rifting invasion windows, 10v10 battlefields and arenas, all feeding Abyss Points that also power the Potential enhancement track on your gear.

Content comes in solo, 5-player and 10-player sizes per the official description. Standard expedition composition is 1 tank, 1-2 healers and 3-4 DPS — and because Templar and Cleric are the only tank and dedicated healer classes, those two never wait long for a group.

Minimum: Ryzen 5 2600 or Core i5-10500, 8 GB RAM, GTX 1050 Ti (4GB), 100 GB storage, Windows 10/11 64-bit. Recommended: Ryzen 7 3700X or Core i7-11700, 16 GB RAM, RTX 2070 (8GB). An SSD is recommended, and NC suggests the Very Low/Low preset at 1080p depending on your spec tier.

A recurring in-game event on Atreia with mini-games: protecting Shugos from enemy waves, pet races, laser-dodging and more, paying out unique rewards including wings, skins, pets and décor. It runs on its own event schedule alongside Spacetime Rifts and world boss spawns.
