Yes. AION 2 is free to play on Windows PC through Steam and NC's PURPLE launcher, with in-app purchases and an optional $15/month membership tier. A separate optional Founder's Pack exists for the launch window — 5-day advanced access, a Unique title, a 30-day Quai membership and a supply chest per the official listing — but the game itself costs nothing to download and play.
When did AION 2 release globally?
AION 2 launched globally on October 5, 2026 for North America, South America and Europe on PC. Korea and Taiwan have been live since November 19, 2025; the global version is a modified Season 1 build roughly a year behind the Korean one.
What classes are in AION 2 at global launch?
Eight: Templar (tank), Gladiator (melee DPS), Assassin (melee burst), Ranger (ranged physical), Sorcerer (magic burst), Spiritmaster (summoner — listed as Elementalist in some pre-launch coverage, same class), Cleric (main healer) and Chanter (buff support). Brawler, the ninth Korean class, is not in the global launch.
Can I change class after choosing one?
There is no confirmed free re-class system at global launch. You start as an Adventurer and commit to a class through an early story quest — treat the choice as real. The class change guide collects everything NC has said on the topic so far.
What is the level cap in AION 2 global?
45 for the global Season 1 launch build. The Korean version caps at 50, so Korean content gated behind levels 46-50 does not exist globally yet. Hitting 45 unlocks the endgame wall at once: Abyss, Arena, Nightmare, Sanctuary, Transcendence, Ascension Trial, Market, Season, Rank, Arcana and World Level.
What is item level and how high do I need to go?
Item level is the power number on each gear piece; the aggregate across all equipped slots is what Conquest dungeons gate on. The ladder: Tier 1 at 700, Tier 2 at 1,400, Tier 3 at 2,100, Tier 4 at 2,800 and Tier 5 at 3,000 aggregate item level — the top of the global Season 1 ladder.
